Deliberative DeLP agents with multiple informants

چکیده
In this paper we define a trust-based argumentative reasoning formalism where the source of the received information is used to decide the warranted conclusions. In the proposed formalism, the agent’s tentative conclusions are supported by arguments, and these conclusions can in turn be attacked by other arguments, referred to as counter-arguments. The inference mechanism compares arguments and counter-arguments to decide which conclusion prevails. We propose a novel development of different argument comparison criteria based on trust. Thus, given a particular application domain, the more appropriate criterion can be used. Finally, since a realistic scenario should consider that trust on informants is usually subject to change, a complete change theory over the agents’ trust is introduced.

A Temporal Argumentation Approach to Cooperative Planning Using Dialogues
In this paper, we study a dialogue-based approach to multi-agent collaborative plan search in the framework of t-DeLP, an extension of DeLP for defeasible temporal reasoning. In t-DeLP programs, temporal facts and rules combine into arguments, which compare against each other to decide which of their conclusions are to prevail. By adding temporal actions for multiple agents to this argumentativ...
متن کاملReasoning Module Interface Design Considerations
DLP is a basic java-based IDE specifically conceived for DeLP, that allows to compile DeLP programs and queries into JAM opcodes, execute those opcodes, and even witness the actual step by step construction of the dialectical tree that is built in order to determine the correct answer to those queries. Over time, DeLP semantics matured into a solid alternative for representing the knowledge of ...
متن کاملAn Argumentation-Based Multi-agent Temporal Planning System Built on t-DeLP
In this contribution, we study a system for argumentationbased backward planning built on t-DeLP, a temporal extension of Garcia and Simari's argumentation system known as defeasible logic programming framework (DeLP). In t-DeLP programs, temporal facts and defeasible temporal rules combine into arguments, which compare against each other to decide which of their conclusions are to prevail. We ...
متن کاملSteps Towards a Systematic Investigation of Possible Evolutionary Trajectories from Reactive to Deliberative Control Systems
Although they are vastly outnumbered by simpler control systems, complex, “deliberative” control systems have evolved on our planet. Hence, agents with deliberative capabilities must have adaptive advantages over agents with simpler control systems in some environments. This paper examines the tradeoffs between the costs of control systems and the benefits they offer in a variety of environment...
متن کاملSystematic Approach to the Design of Robot Pro- Gramming Frameworks
The paper presents a transition function based formalism for specifying robot programming frameworks. It deals with systems consisting of multiple embodied agents (e.g., robots), influencing the environment through their effectors and gathering information from the environment through their sensors. The presented examples pertain to behavioral and hybrid behavioral-deliberative agents, but are ...
